Laminating it, or slipping it into a plastic protector, makes the board re-usable week after week. I laminated it and have hung it on our kitchen wall right beside our problem solving chart. (awesome game, by the way) to accomplish “Solve It!” while other days, the kids may work in their Sylvan math workbooks. I tried to brainstorm lots of different activities so that there would be something most kids like on it. The board has ideas for coloring, science, chores, exercising (outside and inside), reading, math, drawing, building, writing, painting, pretend play, and singing.
The idea is that when kids need an idea to beat boredom, they can pick an activity on the BINGO chart. While it’s not a true BINGO game, you could “play” it like that. And during the long, summer days, I don’t want that to be their go-to. So, I created this simple and flexible “I’m Bored” BINGO chart. I don’t know about your kids, but my kids tend to gravitate towards the screen when they are “bored”. Continue the game until someone has 5 activities in a row. Put a set of short physical activities on your card (lunges, Jumping Jacks, sit-ups, crunches, push-ups, squats, jumps, arm spins, ), and read them out one by one after the entire class has done the activity, students tag the activity on their card.
